GUIDING LIGHT is the only international organisation for ethics and sustainability in technologies. Together with a diverse community of individuals and organisations, artists and entrepreneurs, we support the global movement “Tech for Good“. We provide an international platform and think tank for ethical and sustainable technology projects that benefit the wider public and tackle social problems.
Technology literacy is a human right. We want to empower individuals and communities to take part in the conversation about technologies at eye level, and use technologies for the greater good of humanity.
Everyone should know what happens to their data on social media, but also which impact emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, extended reality, and tools such as ChatGPT would have on them. We wish to educate, support, and empower diverse communities to take part in the conversation.
Human rights are at the heart of everything we do. Our work is to provide network activities and formats to generate innovative and ethical technology project ideas, educate different groups in our society, initiate projects, but also support tech projects with ongoing ethical and sustainable standards that improve people's lives.
In all our activities we pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.
We are an inclusive and diverse community for those voices which are often overheard in the conversation, in particular, female technology experts, and technologists from the LGBTQIA+ community, and people of color.
But we also see the bigger picture of our own doing. Due to our humanitarian responsibility, we have also founded our independent, non-profit sister organisation "Guiding Lights - Society to support people in need and charity initiatives" that wishes to support social causes with charity campaigns such as #bravehood and work with our partners, such as UNICEF and War Child, among others, on their causes. Guiding Lights is independent, but is affiliated to and supported by GUIDING LIGHT in all of its actions.
Our partners share not only our vision of a sustainable technological future, they are also our most important allies to get there.
